After a four-year break, country’s popular musical band Souls launched its new album ‘Jam’.The album addresses the issue of traffic jam in the country and a few songs of the album focuses on the adverse impact of ongoing anomalies in road and traffic system, said Partha.
Partha also said that the album features a song dedicated to renowned poet Nirmalendu Goon.
While asked about whether the digital launch is a protest to piracy or not, Partha replied, ‘I don’t consider piracy as an issue. It’s just an excuse made by the production companies to deprive the artistes. If piracy would have been an issue, how come the companies run their business?’
The new album features the lyrics of the winner of the music contest ‘Souls featuring you’ while gives the winning instrumentalist of the same contest the rare opportunity to play instrument for songs in the album.
Earlier, the band in collaboration with Grameenphone launched the music contest titled ‘Souls Featuring You’ on July 13 to inspire budding lyricists and instrumentalists to write a song, and play instrument in the album ‘Jam.’
The album will available to the subscribers of mobile operator Grameenphone, however, the CDs will be available two months later, said Partha Barua.
