Mac OS X 10.6.8 Multilanguage Pre-Installed
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Multilanguage Pre-Installed | 4.3GB
This is a pre-installed virgin copy of a full 10.6.8 (10K549) OS installation. All extra fonts, languages and printers are installed along with X11 and Quicktime Pro 7. None of the additional installers were used though. Apple Mac OS X Snow Leopard builds on a decade of OS X innovation and success with hundreds of refinements, new core technologies and out of the box support for Microsoft Exchange. To create Snow Leopard, Apple engineers refined 90 percent of the more than 1,000 projects that make up Mac OS X. Users will notice refinements including a more responsive Finder; Mail that loads messages up to twice as fast; Time Machine with an up to 80 percent faster initial backup; a Dock with Expose integration; QuickTime X with a redesigned player that allows users to easily view, record, trim and share video; and a 64-bit version of Safari 4 that is up to 50 percent faster and resistant to crashes caused by plug-ins.

Snow Leopard is half the size of the previous version and frees up to 7GB of drive space once installed. For the first time, system applications including Finder, Mail, iCal, iChat and Safari are 64-bit and Snow Leopards support for 64-bit processors makes use of large amounts of RAM, increases performance and improves security while remaining compatible with 32-bit applications.

Grand Central Dispatch (GCD) provides a revolutionary new way for software developers to write applications that take advantage of multicore processors. OpenCL, a C-based open standard, allows developers to tap the incredible power of the graphics processing unit for tasks that go beyond graphics.

This has not been booted yet so there are no user accounts just like a freshly installed OS. Also please make sure to enable Journaling once you have restored the disk image to a volume. I disabled it to save a little space and bandwidth since it reserves 25% of a volume for it. The contents of the disk image will need approx. 7 GB but 12 or more would be better for basic needs

There are many uses for this but it's primary purpose is that it can be quickly and easily restored to an HD with Disk Utility and then used as a foundation to build it up or as a disposable OS when needed without all the headaches of doing an install the normal way.

This disk image has been restore optimized via DropDMG so you do not need to scan the disk image first when using Disk utility.

Don't forget to use the 10.6.8 (or newer) combo updater(s) to optimize the OS for your hardware just to be on the safe side.
