Do you like to hear the instruments in Cake, and Counting Crows? Are you looking for singer songwriter stuff with strong melodies and a variety of styles throughout the CD, but with a unified theme? If you like good music you owe it to yourself to check out Big Harp's album "White Hat". There are quite a few picks for a strong radio play song such as "Here's Hoping" or the more likely but more controversial "Out in the Field", but as a whole there is no solitary single. This is an album. A real one. None of that waiting to hear a good song. Just a masterful blend of moods and styles with the catchiest of melodies carrying you through almost every one of them. This is my most prized album in my collection right now, right along side Ethan Daniel Davidson's "Alaska 11 North" and "Ring Them Bells". Don't listen to the 7 out of 10 review "It's just something to listen to while drinking a beer" talk by Zachary Houle. It doesn't do it justice. Don't listen to anyone. Try this album out for yourself. See if it fits. It is a perfect fit for me. Fantastic album! (amazon)
